On February 2nd, 2022, little Joshua was taken to the Toro Babies Home by an officer and a relative. Joshua was born on January 3rd, 2022. His 16-year-old mother was anemic and sadly died shortly after he was born. The father is only 17 years old. A relative of the little one took him in, but he could hardly look after him, which is why he turned to us.
Joshua wasn’t in good state. You could see right away how weak and sick he was. He was incredibly pale and the relative explained to us that he was coughing constantly and could hardly eat. We first had him examined and treated at Kabarole Hospital and then brought him back to the baby home.
On the morning of February 4th, we realized that he couldn’t eat well again, so we took him to the hospital for another check-up. The doctor told us that Joshua was severely dehydrated and had malaria. They tried to treat him as best they could under the circumstances, but his body was already very weak. In the evening we received the sad news that he did not survive.
We hope that he is in a place where he no longer has to suffer. May Joshua rest in peace.
